HOW DO I FIND OUT ABOUT SHOP UPDATES?

Shop updates are always announced on Instagram first and can be found under my bio. I also add an announcement header at the top of my website once the date has been selected. Shop updates are always Eastern Standard Time. If you would like to be the first to know about exclusive offers and shop previews, join my email list at the bottom of my homepage!

HOW FAST DO UPDATES SELL OUT?

This changes per update. My pottery usually sells out quickly, so it is always better to be ready by the exact date and time. Recent updates have sold out in between 5-10 minutes.

HOW much is your work?

My pottery prices vary based on the piece. There is a lot that goes into the pricing of each item. I take into consideration the time, size, design and materials used. Mugs are my most popular items and range between $70-$150.

What payment methods are accepted?

My website accepts, PayPal, Apple Pay, AfterPay, and most major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, & more. If you are purchasing through PayPal, for faster checkout create a PayPal account on the PayPal website ahead of time, or make sure you are already logged into your account prior to the shop update.

HOW much is shipping?

At this time, shipping is FREE for US orders! I ship using USPS and use all eco-friendly shipping materials or recycled materials that have been shipped to me from another seller. I try to be as environmentally conscious as possible. Orders shipping to Canada have a flat rate of $40. *There may be periodic increases in product pricing to accommodate for postage increases. Prices may also increase near the holiday season due to increases in postage costs. For more information about our policies, please visit the policies page.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SHIP?

Most packages arrive between 1-5 days from the shipment date. After a shop update, I begin packaging orders the following business day. I try my best to get orders out as quickly as possible after the update. You will receive a notification email once your package has been shipped and this will include your tracking number.

*Per USPS Holiday Shipping Guidelines the final shipment date for 2023 Christmas arrival is December 18th for Priority Mail. Once your package(s) leaves my studio and is picked up by USPS, I do not have control of what happens next and cannot guarantee arrival by a specific time and Autumn & Sage LLC is NOT responsible for lost or stolen packages. For more information about our policies, please visit the policies page.

DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?

At this time, I only ship to the US and Canada. I hope to include more international shipping options in the future!

IS YOUR POTTERY MICROWAVE & DISHWASHER SAFE?

  • I DO NOT recommend putting my pottery in the dishwasher or soaking exposed clay for long periods of time. Pottery can last a lifetime if it is taken care of and hand washing is the best way to preserve your new pottery.

  • Most A+S pottery IS microwave safe. In the event that your pottery has gold luster on it, it will NOT be microwave safe. If this is the case, I will let you know in the product listing and on your thank you note in your package.

IS YOUR POTTERY oven SAFE?

Yes, Autumn & Sage pie and casserole dishes are oven safe up to 400° F. We recommend preheating your oven with your dish in it to reduce thermal shock. Thermal shock occurs when a dish changes temperature too quickly. This can cause the piece to crack.

What is a second?

A “second” is a piece that has a slight imperfection. It may be a glaze flaw, blemish, superficial crack, or simply that the piece did not come out as intended. Seconds are always noted in the product listing and contain detailed photos and information regarding the flaw. Seconds are still perfectly functional pieces. It is recommended that all pottery including any seconds still be hand washed and handled with care. Please visit our Pottery Care Guide for more information on how to care for your new pottery!

DO YOU accept CUSTOM ORDERS OR offer WHOLESALE?

Unfortunately, I do not accept custom orders and do not offer wholesale. I am a small batch potter and each piece is one-of-a-kind. Due to the nature of my process, I cannot offer custom orders or orders of large quantities.

DO YOU DO take pre-ORDERS?

Pre-orders are CLOSED at this time.

Throughout the year, I offer a few pre-order spots. When they are open, you can pre-order one of my current designs and skip the stress of a shop update! The requirements for pre-orders are as follows:

  • The pre-order will be for a preselected design of my choosing.

  • Pre-orders can take anywhere between 6-10 weeks based on how many spots are offered and where I am at in my current update schedule. I work orders into my firing schedules to make sure I am as efficient as possible.

  • Orders are required to pay the full amount upfront.

  • All orders are final sale.

  • If you are interested in the availability of pre-order spots please join our email list to be notified when they will be available. Join the email list at the bottom of my homepage!

WHAT IF MY ORDER ARRIVED Damaged or BROKEN?

Receiving broken pottery is always a bummer. If this happens, please email me at theautumnandsage@gmail.com and send a photo of the broken shipment within 72 hours of arrival. I will work with you to replace the order. If I do not receive an email within 72 hours, we cannot offer a refund or replacement.

can I return my order?

  • Due to the nature of handmade pottery, returns cannot be accepted. All sales are final. For more information about our policies, please visit the policies page.

can I cancel my order?

  • Orders can be canceled within 24 hours. I begin packing orders the following day and must be notified as soon as possible. Orders cannot be canceled after 24 hours. For more information about our policies, please visit the policies page.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE A MUG?

I get this question a lot and it’s a harder question to answer than you may think! Pottery is a lengthy process and timing and environmental elements, such as weather and humidity, play a very important role in the process. Additionally, I work in batches and try to create between 30-50 mugs per shop update. I cannot just create one mug at a time.

Here is a little bit of insight into my process for a single mug:

  • Wedging clay - ~3-5 minutes

  • Throwing the mug (I am a very slow potter) - ~5-15 minutes

  • Dries over-night

  • Trimming - ~ 5 minutes

  • Making and attaching handles - ~10+ minutes

  • Carving Designs - ~30+ minutes

  • Dries for several days until bone dry (the humidity will affect the length of this step.)

  • Bisque firing - ~12.5 hours + cooling for 20-24+ hours

  • Sanding - ~5+ minutes

  • Rinsing - ~1 minute

  • Let bisque pottery fully dry - ~2+ hours

  • Glazing - ~40-60+ minutes based on the complexity of the design.

  • Let glaze dry completely

  • Glaze firing - ~8.5 hours + cooling for 20-24+ hours

  • Photographing - ~15+ Min (this includes all angles, product photography, styled images and photo editing)

  • Liquid Measurement - ~1-2 minutes

  • Create shop listing - ~15 minutes

  • Packing order - ~20+ minutes (Includes, building boxes, wrapping the piece, writing thank you notes, weighing the package, printing the shipping label and more.)

Please keep in mind that Autumn & Sage is a one-woman shop! I do everything from making, marketing, shipping & so much more on my own. There is a lot of love, time and energy that goes into each piece!
