Hand wash

As a general rule of thumb, handmade = hand wash. We strongly recommend hand washing all handmade pottery. This will ensure that it is delicately washed, and will help prolong the life of the piece. Please wash your new pottery after unboxing, prior to its first use.

Do not soak

Many of our pieces are partially unglazed on the exterior. We recommend that you do not soak your pottery. Soaking can cause alterations in the color of the natural clay.

Microwave-safe pieces

Most of our pottery is microwave-safe unless noted otherwise. Please carefully review all product listing information prior to purchasing. Items with gold luster are NOT microwave-safe. Microwaves can cause dramatic temperature changes and in order to reduce the risk of thermal shock, please limit microwave use and only lightly microwave as needed.

oven-safe pieces

Pie dishes, casserole dishes, and other items are oven safe up to 400° F. We recommend preheating your dish and the oven at the same time to reduce the risk of thermal shock. Oven-safe items will be noted in the product listing. Please carefully review all product information prior to purchasing.

Thermal shock

What is thermal shock? Thermal shock is when a piece rapidly changes temperature and causes a crack to form. This could be as simple as filling a mug with ice-cold liquid and popping it in the microwave. Always be aware of any temperature variations and be careful not to cause dramatic changes.
